The 2nd City Decarbonisation Itinerant Workshop was organized by the University of Roma Tre as a virtual 5-days’ workshop, in compliance with the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshop was carried out between the 1st and the 5th of March and it involved 24 HE students of different levels and backgrounds.
Similarly to the 1st workshop organised in Siena, the objective was to design collaborative urban decarbonisation strategies for a target neighbourhood: in this case, the Torrino-Mezzocammino area, in the south-western part of the city of Rome.

The structure of the workshop was very similar to the one adopted during the first workshop: a preliminary presentation of the hosting city and of the target neighbourhood, followed by the training and co-working sessions conducted by the City Minded partners. The following topics were addressed during the first four days of the workshop:
- Day 1: Place-making framework (ROMA TRE)
- Day 2: Assessment and analysis of vulnerability associated with climate change (UPO)
- Day 3: Carbon accounting and carbon footprint mitigation (UNISI)
- Day 4: Energy Efficiency and Renewable energy technologies in the active service of the City decarbonisation processes (IRENA and MIEMA)

The workshop was concluded by a final wrap-up focusing on the results achieved, which involved both partners and students. A few relevant stakeholders were invited, to help students understand the target area, its history and its inhabitants, and how it is framed into the overall dynamics and issues of the city of Rome.
The participating students considered the workshop to be very interesting and valued especially the relevance of the topics addressed, and the interactive, international and interdisciplinary dimensions of the experience, as well as the innovative format of the event. The online mode allowed for a satisfactory level of collaboration and interactions among students and between students and partners. An online satisfaction questionnaire was completed by the students and provided important suggestions for the improvement of the learning experience and the successful prosecution of the CITYMINDED project.
